In South Carolina, you’re required to have mirrors that give you a clear view of the road behind you, at least 200 feet to the rear of your vehicle. If your trailer is wide enough to block that view, then yes, you do need towing mirrors. They help you see around the trailer, change lanes safely, and avoid blind spots while hauling.

If your standard mirrors already provide a full, unobstructed rear view, additional towing mirrors may not be required, but they can still make towing safer and easier. Check with your local DMV to make sure you are following all local requirements for hauling.
